WHY "THE EDGE"?

We call our journal "TheEdge" for three reasons:

  • TheEdge covers the interactions of cultures - the "edges" between cultures at the interpersonal level or at the societal level.
  • TheEdge promotes the interaction of disciplines (anthropology, psychology, communication, literature, etc.) which address intercultural interaction. The journal is an interdisciplinary journal. Many disciplines can and do contribute to our understanding of intercultural relations. TheEdge seeks to bring these many disciplines into conversation with each other along the edges of the disciplines where they conceptually overlap. (See What is Intercultural Relations?)
  • TheEdge is also hopefully "on the edge" innovatively speaking. Both in terms of technology and content we strive to push the edge beyond current boundaries.
