InterculturalU.com is a website operated by InterculturalRelations.com, an online publishing company.

InterculturalRelations.com is committed to protecting the privacy of its users on the InterculturalU.com site. Modification or Updating of Privacy Policy

We may modify or update the Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by sending you an email (if you are a registered member), posting a notice on the front page of the web site ( http://cms.interculturalu.com ) and on the Admin blog ( http://cms.interculturalu.com/user/1 ). If you receive notification of a change in our Privacy Policy, you must review the new Privacy Policy carefully to make sure you understand the modifications to our policy.

Types of Information Collected

Personal Information. We collect personal information from registered members (visiting members, assistant members and associate members) as part of the registration process. During the registration process, we collect personal information such as your name, mailing address, phone number, email address. We also collect similar information from registered and unregistered users who elect to receive the Campus Dispatch newsletter.

Registered members may volunteer professional information such as department and university/organization affiliation, recent publications, research interest, their professional website URL or a small photograph of themselves. This information can be added and modified under Vitae section of user account page.

No personal financial information is collected by InterculturalU.com (e.g., a credit card number). Membership fee transactions are handled through PayPal.com. Orders placed through the Intercultural U Bookstore are handled through Amazon.com. Purchases from the Intercultural U Café are handled through CafePress.com. See the Privacy Policy of these companies to answer any questions you may have about the information that you share with them. This Privacy Policy does not apply when you access these three companies or any other third-party web sites.

Technical Information. Any time you visit any web page you send a lot of technical information to the web server (such as your browser type, your ISP, operating system, and your IP address.). Like other websites we also collect this technical information. This technical information cannot be easily used to personally identify you. It is not the intent of this site to use this information to keep track of legitimate users of this site

Communicated Information. If you communicate with us regarding InterculturalU.com, we will collect any information that you provide to us via e-mail or other means.

Posted Information. Registered members can post information to the InterculturalU.com site. Members can, for example, post their view and opinions in comments, forum posts and blog entries. We also collect this information and, of course, this information is posted on the InterculturalU.com site for the general public to view and your username (which may be your full name) will be posted with your comments and entries. How Information Is Used

We use personal and professional information primarily for our own internal purposes, such as providing, maintaining, evaluating, and improving the InterculturalU.com features and content, fulfilling requests for information, notifying users about updates to the site, and providing member support.

With some exception, the above mentioned personal and professional information is made available to assistant and associate members as part of the Directory of Members. The exceptions are: The street address and postal code are not made available on the Directory of Members.

Technical Information. We use non-personal information to track your use of InterculturalU.com and for other internal purposes, particularly providing, maintaining, evaluating, and improving the content and features of InterculturalU.com.

Communicated and Posted Information. We use communicated and posted information primarily for our own internal purposes, such as providing, maintaining, evaluating, and improving the InterculturalU.com features and content, fulfilling requests for information, notifying users about updates to the site, and providing member support.

Discloser of Information to Third Parties

Generally speaking, we do not intentionally disclose information collected about you to third parties without your consent. However we reserve the right to do so because it is necessary to the operation and continued growth of our business or to protect the rights of others. We may disclose information collected about you to any successor-in-interest of ours, such as a company that acquires us. InterculturalRelations.com makes no guarantee against unauthorized or illegal access to any information you provide. This information will be available to all developers and systems administrators with access to the server on which the site is hosted.

This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies InterculturalRelations.com on the InterculturalU.com site only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

For registered members we do use cookies to track your use of the our site to provide you with a more personalized user experience and to allow you to sign in and begin use of the InterculturalU.com site. We may also use cookies to ensure that you have been notified of and agreed to the then-current version of the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any other agreements and policies relating to your use of the our site.

You can obtain a copy of and request that we correct errors in your Personal Information You can review and edit your personal and professional information by accessing your user account page on the InterculturalU.com site.

Invite a Friend and Send This Page

If you choose to use our referral service, Invite a Friend, to tell a friend or colleague about the InterculturalU.com web site, we will ask you for your friend's email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit our web site and become a member. We store this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact by sending an email to privacy@interculturalu.com to request that we deactivate this information in our database.

With the Send This/Email This Page feature of InterculturalU.com site, users are asked to provide their names and e-mail address along with the e-mail address and name of person to which the page is being emailed.  We store this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. 

Opting Out From Receiving the Campus Dispatch

Unregistered user may, without registering, signup to receive the InterculturalU.com Campus Dispatch electronic newsletter. Users who register are automatically added to the Campus Dispatch subscription list. If you wish not to receive the Campus Dispatch, you can unsubscribe by visiting the Campus Dispatch page and clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the page.
